What is Tarot?

Tarot is a form of divination using cards - usually 78 of them, made up of 22 major arcana cards; and four sets of 10 pip cards and 4 court cards, called the minor arcana.

The Fool

When many of us think of Tarot, we think of fortune-telling.

While I believe that can be a legitimate approach, mine is different. While readings can, and do, focus on the future, I believe that Tarot is most useful and valuable when it helps us focus on the present.

Life can be confusing. Often we are so caught up in the situations that it presents us that we struggle to see the forest for the trees.

Tarot offers us another perspective. Tarot is able to draw our attention to, and to clarify, what is going on, which helps us to:

- Better understand what we are dealing with
- Discover options we didn't know were available to us

In this way, Tarot can help us make more informed decisions about the things that often mean the most to us.

In other words, Tarot can help us to find out what we really want.
